Firecracker Day. That’s what I called it when I was a kid. I didn’t care about cookouts, family gatherings, or anything else. To me, and to millions of other Americans (especially kids and kids-at-heart), it all boiled down to the firecrackers. How many would we have? Would I be allowed to light any? Would they be awesome or just cool? How big would they be? Would the house catch on fire again?
