Treasures Found: Peggy Shimanek and family discovered some treasures in the burned rubble of her former home southeast of Leoti. The home was destroyed in the December 15, 2021, derecho, which also took the life of Peggy’s husband, Richard. Among the items recovered were Richard’s wedding ring and class ring, and ornamental crosses fashioned from nails.
