Greg and Linda See win Kansas Bankers Association 2025 Windbreak Award

Normally this issue would belong to the Kansas Bankers Awards Annual Meeting and the celebration of the award recipients. Unfortunately, this year’s meeting was canceled because of the recent storm.Fortunately, we are still able to honor the 2025 Windbreak Award winners, Greg and Linda See.

Shortly after the Litsters moved to town, I saw JJ in the grocery store and we chatted for a minute. I warned him I would be sending him a questionnaire of introduction so that we could write about him and welcome him and his family to town. And that’s where my brain short-circuited.

Meals are served Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. and are available to all. Guests of any age welcome. Meals for those 60 years of age or older are $3.50 and under 60 are $7.50. Lunches need to be ordered one day in advance. Delivery is available for home bound residents.

I have lately been made aware of members of this community taking to social media to voice their complaints about the content of this newspaper and the supposed political leanings of the staff and ownership thereof. Apparently it’s time we discuss our individual responsibilities.

GCCC to Host STEM Career Showcase on February 7

Garden City Community College, through its Title III STEM program and in cooperation with the Western Kansas Career Showcase, will host a STEM Career Showcase on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the GCCC STEM Success Center.
