Birdies: From Award-Winning to on Hiatus

It is with great joy and sudden disappointment that we at The Native Sun learned, within the same hour, of Birdies winning a 2025 To the Stars Kansas Business Awards Main Street Momentum Merit Award for the Southwest Region, and their impending hiatus.

Wichita County Jr/ Sr High School will be celebrating its Outer Space-themed Winter Homecoming the week of January 26-31. Students voted last week for the 2026 Homecoming Court.

Newman University announces 2025 fall Dean’s List

WICHITA, Kansas (January 15, 2026) Newman University has released its 2025 Fall Dean’s List. A total of 468 undergraduate students achieved the qualifications required: completing at least 12 credit hours and achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
