Scott City—Roger Allen Cooley, 81, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on April 11, 1945, in Larned, Kansas, the son of Glenn and Dorothy (Grate) Cooley. He had been a resident of Scott City, Kansas, since 1996, moving from Leoti, Kansas.
Roger was a lifetime farmer and owned and operated Cool ey’ s Carpet Cleaning and Cooley Farms.
Roger was a member of First Baptist Church.
On October 27, 1964, he married Toni DeWeese in Leoti, Kansas, at the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Toni Cooley of Scott City, Kansas; sons, R. Craig and Elizabeth Cooley of Roscommon, Michigan, and Christopher Cooley of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Annmarie and Marshal Wright of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Diana Fahrenholtz of Granby, Colorado; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gerri Taylor and Phyllis Black; and brother, Dale Cooley.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas, with Pastor Kyle Evans presiding.
