On 10/09/2020, Wichita County Health Center was notified that two of our indirect care team members have tested positive for COVID-19. With this information, our team has responded promptly upon notification of the test results and have taken appropriate precautions.
Due to this potential exposure, KDHE has recommended that all residents, patients, and staff members be tested. These tests will take place on Monday, 10/12/2020 per KDHE. We continue to work closely with the Wichita County Public Health Department and we are following the nursing home guidelines set forth by KDHE, KDADS and CMS.
As of noon Friday, October 9, Wichita County Health Center will NOT allow visitors or volunteers.

Update: 10/13/2020
Testing has been taking place this week at WCHC due to the notification of exposure of COVID-19 within our facility.
At this time, all residents and patients are safe and well. We are doing everything we can to keep our other staff, residents, patients and community safe.
Testing will continue per KDHE, KDADS, and CMS guidelines/regulations.
Again, we are keeping all service lines open, including Emergency Services, Lab, Radiology, and Clinic.
We are NOT allowing visitors or volunteers at this time with the exception of Compassionate Care situations.
As the community case count rises, please continue to follow the public health recommendations.
