Elijio “Alex” Luna

Elijio “Alex” Luna was born on December 1, 1935, in Greeley, CO, to Pantaleon and Maria (Silva) Luna. Alex passed away on February 15, 2022, at the age of 86, in Garden City, KS, with family by his side. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile and passion. Despite the struggles, Alex came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Alex always had a passion for collecting cars, and he loved tinkering and working in the garage, painting and fixing each one. A day didn’t go by that Alex wasn’t either in his garage or outdoors working on a project. After owning and operating a successful construction company in Fort Collins, CO, for most of his life, later years found him in Leoti, KS.

Alex is survived by his sons, Kerry Luna, Gail Luna; daughter, Susan Luna-Stephens; grandchildren, Andrew and Christian Stephens, Stevi Hoffner, Kristopher and Alexandra Luna; greatgrandchildren, Gauge and Ransom Hoffner, Abby and Kelly Salinas; siblings, Jackie Snider, Severa Trevino, and Senerina LaFeber.
