Toohey “Buddy” Allaman

Wallace County, Kansas, resident Toohey “Buddy” Riley Allaman, 86, died Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Topside Manor in Goodland, Kansas.

Buddy was born April 17, 1937, at Winona, Kansas, the son of George and Thelma (Messler) Allaman. He was one of s ix chi ldren. He attended school in Wallace and graduated from Wallace County Community High School in Sharon Springs in 1954.

He served in the United States Army in Korea from 1956 to 1959. On December 28, 1958, he and Glenda Norton were married at the First Baptist Church in Leoti, Kansas.

Buddy worked for Jaeger Implement in Leoti from 1959 until he retired in 1992. John Deere was his whole life. He also loved playing dominoes and 4-point pitch, collecting antiques. He especially loved spending time with his family and getting to see the new babies as they were added to the family.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Glenda; his parents, George and Thelma; one brother, Mickey Allaman; a brother-in-law, Bill Fricks; one great-granddaughter, Emma Greeson; and two nephews, Greg and TJ Allaman.

Surviving family includes his children, Linda (Robert) Petty of Sugar City, Colorado, Peggy (John) Dautel of Goodland, Kansas, Adam (Dawn) Allaman of Wallace, Kansas, and Riley (Karla) Allaman of Marienthal, Kansas. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 43 greatgrandchildren, 5 greatgreat- grandchildren, and 4 siblings; Helen Jean Fricks of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Jimmy (Pat) Allaman of Goodland, Kansas, Richard (Connie) Allaman of Goodland, Kansas and Sharon (Freddy) Nowak of McPherson, Kansas.

The funeral will be Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 10:30 AM MT, at the Wesleyan Church in Sharon Springs with Pastors Louis Davis, Paul McNall, and Tim Bonebright officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery, Wallace, KS.

Friends may share their respects at Koons-Russell Funeral Home in Sharon Springs on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM MT.
