Dried brush, weeds, and stubble make great fuel for a quick-moving fire, as Lydia residents and commuters were reminded Wednesday last week. A passing semi-truck was the cause of the excitement, as the sparks and errant flames from a blown tire ignited roadside kindling.

On Wednesday, December 4, a semi-truck traveling through the Lydia neighborhood on K-25 in the south part of Wichita County created some commotion as it left a trail of flames behind it.
