Norma Jean “Jeanie” Reeves 1949 - 2026

Norma Jean “Jeanie” (Meisenheimer) Reeves, 76, passed away on March 28, 2026.

She was born in Scott City, Kansas, on July 3, 1949, to Dwain and Marguerite (Goering) Meisenheimer.

Her career as a registered nurse, which began after her graduation from the Wesley School of Nursing, was a testament to her caring spirit. She spent many years at Hunter Health Clinic, an organization dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of everyone in the community. As Wichita’s first Federally Qualified Health Center and the only Urban Indian Health Program in Kansas, her work there allowed her to provide compassionate care to those in the greatest need.

Jeanie’s commitme nt to others extended beyond her profession. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and she and her husband, Richard, spent much of their time volunteering. In her personal time, her hobbies included bowling, researching her family’s genealogy, and playing card games. She was also an avid collector of antique dolls, and, above all, cherished time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Meisenheimer.

Jeanie’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her survi ving family. She is survived by he r d e v o ted husband of 54 years, Richard Reeves, whom she married on July 31, 1971. She is also survived by her children, Kelley Reeves (wife, Tonya Reeves) and Brian Reeves (wife, Raven Reeves); her grandchildren, Phoenix Ramirez, Brianna Reeves, Kaylie Reeves, Dylan Reeves, Behr Reeves, and Atlas Reeves; her sister, Carole Utermark; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jeanie’s life will take place on April 17, 2026, at Cozine Memorial Group, Kensington Gardens, located at 11500 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS. Inurnment will follow at Lone Star Cemetery in Pretty Prairie, Kansas.
