Bernice Ann Linder Crouch

1940 - 2026

Bernice Ann Linder Crouch, age 8 5 , peacefully departed this earth on April 1, 2026, at her home in Northwest Wichita County, Kansas, and was welcomed i n t o Hea v en by Lloyd, her beloved husband of almost 46 years. Bernice was born at the home of her maternal grandparents, Hiram Alpine and Alice Myra Ford Burr, in Northeast Wichita Cou n t y , on J u l y 26, 1940, the third daughter of Albert Edward “Dutch” and Mabel Bernice Burr L inder. She was married to Lloyd Lynn Crouch on August 28, 1958.

Bernice gracefully dealt with heart disease for 40 y e a r s , endur ing several attacks, bypass surgery, and numerous stents. Even after the loss of her husband nearly 23 years ago, Bernice lived her life to the fullest, independently, in the country where she could see and enjoy the nature surrounding her. keep-sake baby shoes for all of her friends and family. She was a member of the Pyramid China Painting Club of Scott City, Kansas, and the Kansas Federation of China Decorators. She was a member of the Dinas church in Wallace County, and attended the Carwood Community Church near her home. Bernice was proceeded in death by her husband, Lloyd Crouch, sister Alberta Sharon Linder Mullen, and her parents, Albert and Mabel Linder.

Survivors include: son , C rai g A l an (Debora) Crouch of rural Sherman County, Kansas; and daughter, Crystal Lynn Crouch (Robert) Davis of Emporia, Kansas; grandsons, Travi s ( Theresa) Haines of Frederick, Colorado, Tate (Michelle) Haines of Centennial, Col o rado; great grandchildren, Trevin and Toree Haines of Frederick, Colorado; brother, John Joseph (Geraldine) Linder of Kearney, Missouri; sister, Jeanene Rae Linder French of Leoti, Kansas; aunt, Leola Linder of rural Hope, Kansas; nephews , Kev i n (Kathy) Mullen, Rick (Patty) Mullen, Jim Hall, Jack Hall, Jerry (Tammie) Hall, Travis (Patty) Crouch, Tyrone (Shannon) Crouch, Darren (Jody) Crouch, Lance Crouch, Kent Crouch, Todd (Rosa) Linder, Trent Linder, Cameron (Karen) French, Mi t c h e l l French; and nieces, K andi c e M u l l en McCabe, Kelly Luebbers French, Teri (John) Linder Powers, Traci (John) Linder Maloney, Andra (Wes) Crouch Miller, Chnell Crouch, and Judy Kay Hall (Russ) Wilson.

There are so many other Crouch, Baum, Burr & Linder family members, special friends, and classmates whom she also loved dearly. She was also known as Mama, Mom, Granny B, Aunt Bernice, or dear friend to her host of loved ones. To know Bernice was to love her and she reflected that love in her daily life.

A service to honor Bernice’s life will be held on May, 9, 2026, at 10:00am, at the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti, Kansas. Burial will be at the Beulah Rest Cemetery, located north of Leoti. A meal and time for visiting and sharing memories will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti, immediately following the burial. Memorials are suggested to the Beulah Cemetery Association or to the Museum of the Great Plains.
