Carol Sue Cary, 84, died Sunday November 21, 2021, at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. She was born in 1937 in Childress, Texas, the daughter of Ode and Ellen Jean (Thigpen) McAbee.
Carol attended high school and junior college in Clarendon Texas. She married Fred Cary on November 1, 1968. He preceded her in death.
Carol was the County Clerk in Wichita County, Kansas, for over 27 years. She was a member of the Christ Covenant Church. She enjoyed her family, being outside, and her pets.
Those left to cherish her memories include her Children, Paula (Richard) Cleaton of Liberal, Kansas, Carla (Dan) Wikoff of Manhattan, Kansas, Cindy Hochhalter of Garden City, Kansas, Janet Royal of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Robin Ward of Hollis, Oklahoma, and Sheila Jones of Elgin, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Stephanie (Mickey) Zimmerman, Brittani (Jordan) Poland, Shylan Beamer, Justin Beamer, Nathan Crays, Nick (Anne) Royal, Josh (Hanah) Royal, Sarah (Travis) Thacker, Russell (Brianna) Ward, Beth (Shane) Haff, Sadie (Jeremy) Heath, Anna Jones and 231/3 great-grandkids.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Monday, November 29, 2021, at Christ Covenant Church in Leoti, Kansas with Pastor Stephen Morefield officiating. Burial will follow at the Leoti, Cemetery.
There will not be any public visitation.
