Chad Jeremy Armstrong

Chad Jeremy Armstrong, 49, passed away unexpectedly June 21, 2024. He was born October 29, 1974, in Goodland, KS, to Jerry Armstrong and Marlene Ribbing.

Chad spent most of his childhood in Leoti, KS, and graduated from Wichita County High School, prior to enlisting in the US Navy as a Corpsman. While stationed in Jacksonville, FL, he worked in the Naval Branch Clinic and Psychiatric Ward. After his time in the miliary, Chad went back to school and graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Chad spent many years in Louisiana, raising his children, Destani, Vance, and Kain, before finding his way back to Western Kansas and eventually reuniting with his high school sweetheart, Heidi. They spent the last few years of his life in California living to the fullest.

Most days you could find Chad enjoying the warm weather, sitting at the beach or surfing, exploring campgrounds in the mountains, planning the next concert or road trip (sometimes unbeknownst to Heidi), or growing his newly-planted garden. He had recently taken to photography and was in the process of writing a children’s book to help children struggling with depression and anxiety. Chad treasured his children, loved sports, and had a gift of gab, never knowing a stranger. He has touched many lives and will be missed.

Chad is survived by his wife, Heidi Armstrong, of Escondido, CA; daughter, Destani Armstrong; sons, Vance Armstrong and Kain Armstrong, all of Youngsville, LA; stepsons, Dayton Reynolds (Katy and Nicolas), Springfield MO, and Nathan Reynolds (Sarah), San Diego, CA; mother, Marlene Ribbing, Leoti, KS; and father, Jerry Armstrong, Goodland, KS.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Leoti, KS, at the Wichita County Community Building, 502 W M Street, Leoti, KS, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm central time. Please bring any pictures, stories, or memories of Chad to share with other friends and family. In lieu of flowers or gifts, a memorial fund is currently being planned to assist children and families in need.
