Leoti- Elvia Marquez, 73, died Thursday, September 29, 2022, at her home in Leoti, Kansas. She was born on April 20, 1949, in Yepomera, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Desiderio and Ines Flores Varela.
She married Jose Jesus Marquez on May 8, 1976. He passed away on November 25, 2020.
Elvia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took pride in her home. She was loving, kind, and cherished her family deeply. Elvia enjoyed doing crosswords, baking, and working in her yard. She really loved her flower garden, growing and tending to them.
She is survived by her sons, Enrique Marquez of California, Cesar Marquez of Florida, Jose Marquez of Leoti; a daughter, Noemi Marquez of Leoti; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, and one brother.
Vigil Services will be held at 6:30 pm, Sunday, October 9, 2022. A Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, October 10, 2022, both at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas, with Fr. Tim S. Hickey as Celebrant.
