DENVER, CO—Elvon E. “Oily” Loflin passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 87. Elvon was born November 23, 1934, in Leoti, Kansas, to Joe and Myrtle (Olsen) Loflin.
Elvon grew up in Leoti and was a graduate of Wichita County Community High School, after which he served in the United States Army, and was stationed in West Germany. Following his service, Elvon furthered his education by enrolling in beauty school.
He married Donna Hoover in Casper, Wyoming, in 1963. They were married for 58 years.
Elvon loved to go fishing and was a great fan of Denver Broncos football. He was a retired beauty operator.
Survivors include, his wife, Donna Loflin, of the home; three brothers, Jim Loflin, Denver, Colorado, Bob Loflin, Arkansas, and Larry Loflin, Leoti, Kansas; and a goodly assortment of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Myrtle Loflin, and five brothers, Walt Loflin, Ed Loflin, Ken Loflin, Art Loflin, and Waldo Loflin.
