Isabell “Liz” Salinas Rivas passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at her home in De Kalb, Texas. She was 68. Liz was born October 13, 1953, in LaJunta, Colorado, to Louie J. and Carmen Medina Salinas.
She was a bilingual teacher for both the Texarkana Independent School District and the Mount Pleasant Independent School District. Liz was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Phillips L. Salinas; one sister, Mary Andrea Salinas; and one son, Alexis Rivas.
She is survived by her husband, Cruz Angel Rivas of De Kalb, Texas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joe Rivas of De Kalb, Texas, and Felipe and Shana Rivas of De Kalb, Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Frank Salinas of Scott City, Kansas, and Joe and Pauline Salinas of Tom, Oklahoma; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Juanita Phythian Cisneros of Sanford, Colorado, and Carmen and Theodore Salinas Shavers of De Kalb, Texas; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
