Larry Ray Miller, 74, passed away in Klamath Falls, OR, on Friday March 24, 2023, in the comfort of his home with his wife by his side.

Larry was born on December 20, 1948, in Syracuse, Kansas, to Vera Emma Mitchell Miller and Raymond Melvin Miller. He grew up in Kansas, working on the family farm and spending some time in central Oregon before returning to Kansas. Larry married Nelda Jane McColm, the love of his life, on December 29, 1969. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, 4th Infantry Division, earning The Bronze Star before returning home to his beautiful bride and young son, Larry Miller Jr., who was born while he was on the battlefield. Together they had four children and, through the years, built the Miller family legacy.

Larry and Nelda lived in Kansas, where he last worked in law enforcement. In 1986, they moved their family to Klamath Falls, Oregon. Larry sought outdoor adventures in the mountains and area lakes. Hunting, fishing, and driving his Jeep with his wife, children, grandchildren, and family friends were some of his fondest memories.

He opened his family business, Miller’s Appliance Service and Sales, in 1997, in Klamath Falls, OR, and worked with his family and friends for the next 17 years until his retirement. He loved to teach his employees and customers, step-by-step, how to repair appliances and small engines, making it the best place to work for those who worked alongside him.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Melvin Gie s ick; and l i f e long friends Kathi Shearmire and Fred Hendry. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nelda Miller; son and daughter-inlaw, Larry and Delores Miller of Kalispell, MT; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Renee Miller of Palm Bay, FL; daughter and son-inlaw, Misty and Travis Phelps of Klamath Falls, OR; and son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tonia Miller of Klamath Falls, OR; grandchildren, Colton (CJ) Miller, Kyle Miller, Holly Lawrie (Phelps) and husband Drew Lawrie, Travis Phelps, Jr., Dane LeFever, Quinton Miller, and Abigail Miller; great grandchildren, Jakoby, Aurora, Eric, and Dawson; siblings, Rilla Giesick of Castle Rock, CO; Ruth and James Bender of Wichita, KS; Jim and Donna Miller of Keno, OR; Rick Miller of Scott City, KS; brother-inlaw Tony McColm; aunt Mary Pfeifer; cousins Stanley and Delberta Pfeifer, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition, Larry leaves behind his lifelong friend Randy Shearmire of Scott City, Kansas.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on April 2, 2023, at O’Hair-Ward’s Funeral Chapel, 515 Pine Street, Klamath Falls, OR.
