Lois Ilene Phillis, 95, of South Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, Kansas.

One of fourteen children, Lois was born on October 19, 1928, in Leoti, Kansas, the daughter of Ernst and Eva (Campbell) Minor.

Lois worked as a lithographer for 28 years in Canton and Hutchinson, Kansas. Lois married Donald C. Phillis on November 19, 1952, in Leoti, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2014. She was also preceded in death by twelve of her brothers and sisters: Gerald Minor, Leon Minor, Duane Minor, Joyce Farr, Vernon Minor, Gordon Minor, Kay Minor, Harold Minor, Theda Ball, Donald Minor, Larry Minor, and Charlotte Carson. Survivors include a son, Dennis Keith Phillis of Canton, Kansas; daughter, Jeri Rae Gerek (Thomas) of Onaga, Kansas. Also left to cherish her memory are four grandchildren, Jared Phillis (Jennifer) of Hutchinson, Kansas, Thomas Gerek of Quincey, Illinois, Adrienne Heppler (Jason) of Walton, Kansas, and Amber Phillis of McPherson, Kansas. She also leaves behind nine greatgrandchildren; one greatgreat- grandchild; one sister, Margaret Turner of Leoti, Kansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2024, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd, Hutchinson, KS. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, Wesley Towers, or Hospice and Homecare of Reno County and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
