Norma Jean Sherwin

Scott City—Norma Jean Binns Sherwin, age 92, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on December 18, 1932, in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of Anton and Ruth Gottlob Dvorak. In 1950, Norma graduated from Scott Community High School. She was a resident of Scott City, Kansas, since 1949, moving from Winfield, Kansas. She was an Avon Representative for fifty years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas. Norma was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a round and square dancer, an RV traveler, and a master flower gardener.

On April 8, 1950, she married James Edward Binns in Clayton, New Mexico. He passed away on May 3, 2000, in Austin, Texas. On September 22, 2001, she married Warren Sherwin at Camp Lakeside in Scott County, Kansas. He passed away on November 4, 2023, in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include her son, Tony and Leanna Binns of Leoti, Kansas; grandson, T.J. and Amy Binns of Leoti, Kansas; granddaughters, Janene and Da v e Dawso n of Russellville, Arkansas, Amy and Chris Hamblin of Phoenix, Arizona, Jenny LaGesse and Larry Mortazavi of Denver Colorado; four great-grandsons; one great-greatgranddaughter ; one son-in-law, John and Terese LaGesse of Lawrence, Kansas; three step-daughters, Rhonda and Steve Ashworth of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Brenda Sherwin of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Shelly Sherwin of Douglas, Arizona; two step-granddaughters; three step-grandsons; and one step-great-greatgranddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Diane LaGesse; step-son, Scott Sherwin; and step-daughter, Karen Sherwin.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas, with Pastor Don Williams presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
