Robert Francis Mastel, age 94, passed away in Missouri City, Texas on September 12, 2021.
Robert was born March 21, 1927, to Anton and Johanna (Pillen) Mastel in Faith, South Dakota. On June 7, 1950, he married Lorain (Knobbe) in Marienthal, Kansas. Robert was a heavy equipment operator, pilot, and owner of Mastel Garage with his brothers before moving to Marienthal where he was a successful farmer and raised his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorain; parents; and siblings, Kay, Marie, Bill, Paul, and Joe.
He is survived by his sons, Edward, Richard, and Scott Mastel; daughters, Debra Mastel, Nancee Knierim and Roberta Musgrove; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, October 29, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. CT at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Marienthal, Kansas. A lunch will follow the service at the Marienthal Grade School.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Leoti EMT or St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Marienthal.
