Vicki Lynn Bremer was born on February 3rd, 1945, the daughter of Walter W “Bud” and Velda “Wheeler” Shearmire of Modoc, Kansas.
She grew up in Modoc and graduated from SCHS in 1962.
In May after graduation, she began working at the IGA Grocery Store in Scott City where she worked until 1971. Moving after marriage, working for Presto stores in Satanta and Dighton, then moved to Leoti, Kansas, in 1974.
Beginning in December of 1974, Don and Vicki managed the Leoti Lanes Bowling Alley for 11 years. Don was a meat cutter and Vicki worked at Dairy King while managing the bowling alley. Later Vicki worked at the Leoti Standard Newspaper for 18 years.
Vicki enjoyed sports and watched her kids and grandkids’ activities.
She is survived by her three chi ldren, Ma r t i (Dorothy) Bremer, Ron Bremer, and Mindi Bremer; twelve grandchildren, Justin (Shelby) Bremer, Kyle (Jaylyn Dirks) Bremer, Trae (Jewell) Bremer, Tailar (Seth) McGregor, and four other grandchildren; greatgranddaughter Mayzee, one on the way, and one other great-granddaughter; brother, Randy Shearmire; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wennie Shearmire, Terry Shearmire; sister-in-law, Kathi Shearmire; daughter-in-law, Brenda Bremer; one nephew, Cary Shearmire; one greatnephew, Jamie Dyer; one great-grandson, Josiah Seth McGregor.
Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, June 1st, 2023, from 11:00am-Noon, and a come and go with family and friends from Noon-2:00 pm at the Leoti Golf Course Club House.
