May 24, 2026 Wichita, Kan. – The Kansas Bureau of Invest igation (KBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Saturday in Wichita, Kansas.The Wichita Police Department (WPD) requested KBI assistance at approximately 8:20 p.m., on Saturday, May 23.
The Kansas Board of Regents is scheduled to vote in June on tuition proposals for the 2026-2027 academic year at public universities in the state’s higher education system. While Emporia State University wants to hold tuition flat, requested increases range from a low of 3.5% at Pittsburg State University to a high of 6% at Fort Hays State University.
