In the overnight of Sept 9-10, the area was deluged with over two inches of rain, accompanied by a tremendous light (and sound!) show. One of the beautiful results was the local creeks actually flowed again for a while.

Lady Indians Volleyball on the Road to Victory

The Wichita County Lady Indians have started their season last week facing off against Western Plains, Dighton, and Haxtun. The Indians started off with a loss to Dighton with scores of 8-25 and 25-27. They turned around and won to Western Plains 26-24 and 25-13.

Indians Secure Homecoming Victory over Ness City

Wichita County Junior/Senior High School students, faculty, and administration celebrated the 2025 Fall Homecoming Week, culminating in the first home football game in three weeks. [...] As is their wont, the Indians dispatched the Eagles at halftime with a decisive 82-14 victory.
