We would like to thank The Kansas Bankers Association and Wichita County Conservation District for awarding us the Windbreak Award for Wichita County for 2025. We also would like to thank the businesses that support these programs for the Community.

I want to thank everyone for the cards, phone calls, and especially the prayers while I was in Colorado Springs taking cancer treatments. I would especially like to thank Rod and Lea Ames for taking care of me and helping me out through it all, and I’m doing well now. Thank you all Norman Ames

Garden City Community College Statement on Lockdown Response

[Garden City, KS] February 19, 2026—At 9:13 AM, the Garden City Community College Police Department was alerted to an unconfirmed report of shots fired near the Cafeteria. Following the college’s established active intruder procedures, the campus was placed on lockdown.

Senior Center Menu

Meals are served Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. and are available to all. Guests of any age welcome. Meals for those 60 years of age or older are $3.50 and under 60 are $7.50. Lunches need to be ordered one day in advance. Delivery is available for home bound residents.
