Preparations underway for Carnival ‘26 at the Wichita Co. Fair

The Wichita County Amusement Association held Set Up Day on Saturday, July 18, during which volunteers defied the heat (73º, 70% humidity at 8am; 88º, 42% humidity by Noon) to re-assemble rides and position food trailers and the other things for the upcoming Fair.

Phyllis Sortor, a third Generation Free Methodist missionary, was born in Mozambique of missionary parents. She received her education in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and in Seattle, WA, at Seattle Pacific University and University of Washington.

Political signs not allowed on highway right of way

It’s a sign of the season— political campaigning and the posting of campaign signs. The Kansas Department of Transportation reminds the public that all political campaign signs or billboards are prohibited from being placed on state highway right of way.
