Working as an RN in inpatient rehab, I am often called upon to care for patients who have had a cerebrovascular accident, or more commonly called a stroke. I have observed that every stroke patient experiences a unique combination of symptoms but the one of the most important tasks they accomplish in rehab is learning how to be adaptable.

I’ve spent some days over the past two weeks helping my friend, Tracy, clean out her mom’s house since her passing at Easter. Tracy and her daughter visited us in Sharon several times. She was most impressed by the slower pace and “breatheeasier” feeling she had when she came to visit, sharing how Miller’s/TMart reminded her of her childhood grocery store. The nostalgia… something we like to hold close any way we can.

Peace of my Mind

When I was in school, I used to pride myself on learning the things that the teachers told us were difficult. Like apostrophe adoption, comma usage, sentence diagramming, homonym differentiating, modifier placement, and parallel structure. That last one got me in trouble so often, it’s still a pet peeve {a burden I seem to bear [bare? NO] with spectacularly few others).
