Joel Michael Landis

Leoti—Joel Michael Landis, age 36, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at his home in Leoti, Kansas. He was born on October 22, 1985, in Boulder, Colorado, the son of Christopher and Tamala Arnold Landis.

Elvia Marquez

Leoti- Elvia Marquez, 73, died Thursday, September 29, 2022, at her home in Leoti, Kansas. She was born on April 20, 1949, in Yepomera, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Desiderio and Ines Flores Varela. She married Jose Jesus Marquez on May 8, 1976. He passed away on November 25, 2020.

Marianne Eloise Porter, age 77, passed away on September 15, 2022, at her home in Leoti, Kansas. She was born on June 5, 1945, to Burdett and Gladys Marie (Griffith) Patton. She was a resident of the community since 1966, having moved here from Scott City, Kansas.

Donna Lou Ellyn Elder

GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Donna Lou Ellyn (Pepper) Elder, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City following a brief illness. Donna Lou, or “Nonny” as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, was born May 15, 1938, in Lakin, Kan.

Leoti—Carl Zink, 87, passed from his earthly life on August 1, 2022. He was born September 26, 1934, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of the late Orval and Mary (Bontrager) Zink. Carl graduated from Kansas State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

Leoti—Lorraine Mae (Appl) Heronemus, age 93, passed away on August 25, 2022, at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas, surrounded by her family. Lorraine was born on December 29, 1928, on the Appl farm homestead south of Leoti to Frank & Hester (Wagner) Appl; their oldest child.
